Bixente Lizarazu is a retired French professional footballer who played as a left-back. He was born on December 9, 1969, in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, France.
Lizarazu began his professional career in 1988 with Bordeaux before moving to Athletic Bilbao in 1996. He joined Bayern Munich in 1997 and had a successful spell with the club, winning numerous Bundesliga titles and the UEFA Champions League.
Lizarazu also had a successful international career, representing the French national team from 1992 to 2004. He played in two FIFA World Cups (1998 and 2002) and two UEFA European Championships (1996 and 2000), winning the World Cup with France in 1998.
After retiring from professional football, Lizarazu has worked as a sports commentator and pundit. He is also a former Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion.
